EDUARDO DE ANDRADE MONIZ RESENDES 1941 - 2005 Following a courageous battle with cancer, we sadly announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend on Friday, September 30, 2005. Eduardo is survived by his devoted wife Maria Isabel and four daughters Nelia (Silvino) Ana, Helen and Sandra (Kevin): His four beloved grandchildren, Selena, Lucas, Catarina and Tiago will also greatly miss him. He was predeceased by his parents Sofia and Manuel, brothers; Joao, Manuel and sister Rosarinha and leaves to mourn brothers; Jose and Fernando, sister Evangelina and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Eduardo was born on August 21, 1941 in Lagoa, Sao Miguel, Acores, Portugal. In 1972 he arrived to Winnipeg with his wife and three daughters at the time and established a life for his family. Eduardo worked in Long Spruce Gillam and at Jake's Electric and Ken Heibert Electric. Our father was known by all as an exceptional sitter for his grandchildren always ensuring their care. He shared wonderful times with our mother Maria taking great pride maintaining a beautiful backyard and garden. He also looked forward to fishing and making wine from his large apple tree, which he was very proud of. Most importantly our father looked forward to Sunday dinners with his whole family. The Resendes Family would like to thank family and friends who have been supportive throughout this difficult time. A very special thanks to Dr. Pat Harris and her team at Concordia Oncology, CancerCare Manitoba and especially the Palliative care team at St. Boniface Hospital. Prayers will be said on Monday, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 4 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, Munroe and Brazier, with Brother Jorge Villegas, O.F.M.,Cap. as celebrant.
